Students and postgraduates from Center for Probe Microscopy and Nanotechnology took part in the 11-th international conference «Advanced Carbon Nanostructures» (ACNS'2013), which was held in Saint Petersburg from 1 to 5 July.

The conference was attended by scientists from different countries, such as Russia, Japan, Italy, USA, Belarus, Israel, China, Finland, France and others. Oral and poster presentations were devoted basically to the following topics: carbon nanotubes, graphene, fullerenes, nanodiamonds and other carbon structures. During the conference was held the third International school - conference for young scientists «Advanced Carbon Nanostructures and methods of their diagnostics» on Russian. Young scientists made oral and poster presentations as well.

We presented our works in poster presentations. Denis Levin presented the topic «Formation and investigation of graphene films produced by different methods», Roman Rozanov — «Formation of a memristor-based structures of metal oxides with carbon nanotube electrode pads», Aleksey Yemelyanov — «Field control conductivity of a channel made of carbon nanotubes coated with organic molecules», Karina Akhmadishina — «Transparent conductive film of nanotubes for flexible electronics», Ramil Ibragimov — «SERS substrate development for advanced carbon nanostructures study», Anton Malovichko — «Sensitive properties of percolating networks of carbon nanotubes and ZnO nanorods investigation».

In our spare time we visited St. Petersburg's famous places and objects of cultural: Vasilevsky Island, The Military-Historical Museum of Artillery, the Mariinsky Theatre, The State Russian Museum, Kronstadt and Tsarskoye Selo.

During the conference participants shared their experience and got acquainted with the modern world achievements in scientific research. We managed to come in contact with colleagues from Moscow, Novosibirsk, Helsinki and agree on joint research.
