Scientists from MIET took part in international scientific conference “Science and application of nanotubes” in Helsinki, Finland.
From 23 to 30 June a group of scientists and postgraduate from Scientific and Research Center of Probe microscopy and Nanotechnology took part in NT13 International Conference on the Science and Application of Nanotubes which was held in Helsinki, Finland this year. There were more than 400 participants from Finland, UK, German, France, China, Korea, Japan, Italy, USA, Brazil, Estonia and other countries. Scientists from MIET in co-authorship presented 7 posters in area of gas and biological nanowire based sensors development, investigation of nerve cells and nanotube interaction and new composite materials development. Also postgraduate Komarov I.A. and senior researcher Simunin M.M. gave talks about transparent conductive nanotube based films and about ceramic composites on a satellite conference in Tallinn (Estonia).
From the main tendencies in nanotube research it is need to be signed huge progress in transparent conductive nanotube based films which parameters reached those for ITO with good flexibility. Moreover the return to the beginning could be seen – nanotube nucleation: mechanism of nanotube synthesis are investigated precisely with new powerful computers. Better understanding of these mechanisms will allow controlling CVD synthesized nanotube parameters with high accuracy.
